Why Your Last Diet Failed

Every time you go to check out at the grocery store there they are- magazines telling you some way to lose weight, or about a movie star who lost a ton of weight. Sure, you can lose weight, but the important thing is: can you keep it off? The Diet Industry conveniently leaves the facts that only 5% of dieters are able to maintain any weight loss! Diet/Exercise Gurus and their industry make over sixty billion dollars a year on weight loss related services. What other industry could sell a product that fails 95% of the time, and still make yearly profits? None that I know of!

I am so tired of reading these articles directed at vulnerable people who have desperately tried to lose weight before, and have gained it back each time. These unsuccessful “losers” are still trying to find the magic method to lose weight, placing the blame on themselves for eating the wrong foods, for not exercising enough or for some other reason, instead of blaming the real culprit: Dieting!

And to make it even worse, 95% of dieters not only regain the weight they struggled to lose, but then pack on additional insurance pounds that bring them above the weight they started at! However, this is not because people “cheated”, stopped exercising or did anything wrong. It is simply the body’s natural biological response to being “starved” by slowing down your metabolism to keep you alive; making you hungrier and sleepier, and doing every trick in the book to bring you back to a set, “safe” weight determined by your body! Every time you go on a diet, you increase that “set point” which will make you gain even more weight if you go on another diet.

This is the same thing that happens each time, no matter what kind of diet, eating plan, lifestyle change or any other reduced caloric and increased exercise program there is! It also happens when you change the type of food you eat (Paleo, Vegetarian, Atkins, low fat, gluten-free). Only 5% of dieters maintain their weight loss.

This is because we are focusing on the wrong approach to weight loss. Think about what happened right before you started gaining weight. Most people can remember a stressful event that was going on in their lives. That stress changed their metabolisms from the increased amount of cortisol that is released as a reaction to stress. Combine that with the use of “comfort” food as self-medication for stress, and you have the perfect combination for weight gain.

Why hasn’t the diet industry focused on the actual cause of weight gain by addressing how to manage stress?! Their approach is like telling you to take an aspirin for the pain caused by a pebble in your shoe instead of removing the pebble!

All evidence points to STRESS as the major cause of weight gain. And the stressor doesn’t even have to start immediately before weight gain. It can the result of humiliation, abuse or neglect suffered when you were younger than 6 years old (ACE long term study ). Overweight can come from the level of your mother’s stress when she was pregnant. And weight gain can be from your own stress levels: losing a job, getting divorced, getting sick, being poor and any other stressor that affects your mood and life.

And most common of all for young girls and women is the effect of the media and fashion trends which makes them the brunt of teasing or scorn if she’s not excessively thin. With each diet a woman goes on, she increases her weight and her life is now about yo-yoing between thin and heavy.

Before you fall for the biased reporting in those weight loss articles, remember that you only have a 5% chance of maintaining any weight loss, and a 95% chance of actually gaining weight after you finish your diet. And instead begin something really good for yourself. Start a stress relief program. That will ultimately affect your cortisol levels that can repair your metabolism.

There are no intentional weight loss diets that haven been proven to work long term! But you can prevent yourself from gaining weight by having a daily practice of stress relief, nurturing yourself by eating enough food slowly and mindfully, having enough rest and finding joy in your life. Then, you may drop weight unintentionally, and find yourself in the lucky 5% group of people who successfully maintain weight loss. But no guarantees… no sugar coating here… just the facts.

How To Apply A Lace Front Wig

Lace front wigs are the secret to many celebrities’ fabulous looking hair styles. Available in various textures, colors, lengths and styles, front lace wigs and full lace wigs allow women to have the hairstyle that matches their needs and their lifestyles.

Aside from providing women with great looking hair, another advantage of using lace front wigs or lace front wigs is that they have invisible hairlines. They provide the most natural-looking hair line among all available options and make a person look stunning.

Another great thing about lace front wigs is that you can apply the wig yourself without the help of professionals. Just practice the right way of applying your lace front wig and have great looking hair every time you want!

If you have purchased a new lace front wig and still don’t know how to properly apply it, continue reading to find out how.

There are two ways to apply your lace front wig: with the use of double-sided tape and using liquid adhesives to keep the wig in place. Some retailers sell adhesives together with the lace front wig so you should have no problem choosing which one will work well with the wig. If no adhesive is sold with the lace front wig then choose either of the two adhesives but make sure that the product you choose has been designed specifically for this purpose.

When using liquid adhesive, first place the lace front wig on top of your head. Pin back the wig hair in front so that you don’t end up gluing them on your forehead. Apply a very thin layer of adhesive on a small part of the lace front. Make sure to also get your real hair out of the way. You can choose to cut the baby hair or keep it out of the wig; it depends on the look you are going for. Press down the lace front wig on the part where you applied the adhesive. With a good adhesive, it should only take you about 5 seconds to press it down. After that part of the lace front wig is firmly in place, move on to the next section. To make the application easier, apply the adhesive to an inch of hair each time until you have applied adhesive and pressed on the wig from edge to edge.

When using a double-sided tape, cut the tape into 3-inch strips. The tape should be around 3.8 inches wide. Take the first strip and lay it on the patch area where the lace front connects to it. Make sure you attach the tape on the front hairline at the edge of the lace. Place the other strips of tape on the edge of the lace until you have laid down the tapes on the entire front side of the wig from edge to edge. Make sure that there are no spaces between the tapes. This should help keep the wig in place and also provide a natural looking hairline.

Himalayan Pink Salt for Weight Loss

Himalayan pink salt has numerous attributed health properties which deem it rather preferable for use in our daily life. It is scientifically proven to contain more than 80 mineral salts that provide nutrients to the body and mind of the user.

Among the more important health benefits of the pink salt, weight loss is considered a crucial one. Details are discussed below:

Weight Loss using Himalayan Salt

The majority of our population suffers from obesity and unhealthy diet which leads to accumulation of fat on our stomach and thighs. This is the first sign of an unhealthy lifestyle and if this is not controlled in due time, it will takes its toll in the latter part of life.

A natural way to aid weight loss without the fear of side effects is the Himalayan pink salt. According to a few reports, people have reduced weight when they switched to the natural pink salt for their diet instead of the white table salt. Pink salt can be used just like the white salt: in flavoring, marinating, seasoning, preserving, etc. Another very popular method of using pink salt to promote weight loss is using Himalayan salt sole.

What is salt sole?

Himalayan salt appears reddish pink because of the addition of the mineral salts in it. The essence of the salt is in the salt sole.

To make this sole, put a handful of pink salt granules in a big jug of water overnight. Let is dissolve by itself. You can start using the salt sole from the next day, teaspoon by teaspoon. The salt sole will last until the salt dissolves completely.

How does the Himalayan salt effects weight loss?

Salt content in the body causes retention of water inside the cells of the body through the known phenomenon of osmosis. The excess of water causes body to look swelled and fat; it often is also the cause of cellulite too. The Himalayan salt crystals unlike the common table salt release this extra water from the cells. It also decreases the craving by the body for food high in sugar content and carbohydrates.

How to use Himalayan salt for weight loss:

  • For a natural way to intake mineral salts required for the growth and sustenance of the human body, use a teaspoon of concentrated Himalayan salt sole in a cup full of water and drink it on an empty stomach every morning.
  • Use a Himalayan salt massage stone from time to time. It aids in removing accumulation of dead cells from the surface of the skin which removes toxins and other impurities with it. The massage technique also regulate the circulation of blood flow and health hormones inside the body which cause reduction in puffiness, calms down the nervous system, enhances metabolism and improves digestive system.
  • It is also recommended that you use Himalayan bath salt twice a week to relieve symptoms of body sores and muscle pains.
  • To target a particular area of the body for reduction of fat buildup, like stomach, thighs, hips, etc. we recommend ‘salt sole compress wraps’. Elastic bandages are soaked in a 5% solution of salt sole. (Make sure the water is lukewarm.) Wring the extra water out of it. Apply the bandage on the targeted area and let it sit there for an hour or so.
  • Lastly, exercise and a healthy diet are mandatory to assist the use of Himalayan salt towards the goal of weight loss.

Other benefits of using Himalayan salt

Himalayan salt is not only beneficial for weight loss but for following health benefits:

  • Improves circulation in the body
  • Regulates blood pressure
  • Cures kidney problems
  • Balances pH levels inside the body
  • Reduces risk of heart attack
  • Decrease symptoms of asthma, sinus infections, and mucus buildup
  • Provides necessary minerals and nutrients to the body

Certainty: The Way It Is

People, at least in their minds in this fluid reality are genuinely multi dimensional beings, with an imagination and consciousness. But, the problem is most consciousness and imagination is stagnant, sleeping, unaware and unused, it seems. Indeed, though, here is the thing I am most certain of: With disparate change comes growth and awakening. I look at this “troubled time” as a time for change and growth. “The guards may be changing” as is said, but, what if everything lead to “the desired lethargy of sameness”? Then we would be in real trouble. So, this I am certain of: Evolution, growth and change are good things at the right times.

Now, here is the part that makes this a hypnosis/neuro-linguistic programming article: What if everything went in a “comfortable way” without imagination, change or new things happening for change? Then everything would just go down. I mean look at every empire that went for comfort, lethargy, and establishment leadership from Egypt, Kush, Greece and Rome, before and after and on. They fell or went “belly up to the dust” ultimately. Revolution is a good thing at times to really keep things imaginatively alive.

Realistically, genuine eternal values that last forever can genuinely adapt and change and get better in the game of reality. What do you think neuro-linguistic programming modeling is about anyway, change and adaptation in a good way with ideas that work that are not or are your own but adapted to you ultimately.

Revolution is the way it is, evolution is the way it is. The positively new is a good thing, while negative stagnant establishments are bad. Let us face it. Adaptation is strength, while rigidity and nepotism are weakness. We could see that with the later Pharoahs and the Caesar families in Rome and Egypt. So, I will say this with great risk to myself: New blood makes things better, new ideas make things better and a constant awakening keeps things eternal. Think about that statement for a moment, is that not true. Why do you think those fifty-two “criminals” including George Washington, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson and John Hancock are still considered firebrands of a sort to this day with those ideas like the Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution of The United States? Change and adaptive modeling may not always be pretty, but it is necessary for survival, this I am certain of: All existence is not an exception in reality.

Deadlift Specialization

Here’s a simple, but brutally hard and effective workout, used by the old-timers to build rock solid muscle and work on their deadlifting skills.

This specialization program has put 20-30 pounds of muscle on some people in just 6-8 weeks! That’s not b.s. hype, it’s a fact. One of them was an old-time lifter named Harold Ansorge.

Don’t be fooled by the routines simplicity. You must work damn hard with heavy poundages (whatever you define as heavy). Follow this to the letter for about 6-8 weeks and be prepared to buy bigger clothes.

Deadlift Specialization Program

Workout A
Deadlifts 10 x 3-5

Workout B
Deadlifts 3 x 5
Breathing Deadlifts 1 x 20

Notes: As you can see by the set/rep scheme you must lift heavy. Alternate the workouts, lifting every 3-5 days. Basically do this routine twice a week. If you haven’t recovered enough or feel wiped out, then train once a week, every five days. The breathing deadlifts are performed just like the squat version, except you place the bar on the floor, take three deep breaths, and then do another rep. Once again, rep, set bar on floor, three breaths and another rep until 20 are done. As always, get plenty of rest, eat good food and drink lots of water. Remember to lift heavy and with max intensity.

Understand that to be successful in any weight training program – hard work is a must! Half-hearted effort does nothing for you. If you’re new to weight training or grossly out of shape, consult a physician first. End of disclaimer.

No No Hair System – This Hot Little Gadget Is Heating Up The Hair Removal Circuit

After watching the infomercial on the Home Shopping Network a few times, I thought I would take the plunge and try out the No No Hair System 8800. I got it through their web site so that I could get the 60 Day Trial promotion just to be sure. Although I wasn’t expecting to be hairless after 60 days, it would be enough time to get a good feel for it and decide whether I wanted to keep it.

The following review is based on the No No Hair System 8800 as opposed to the No No “Classic”, which is their original unit. I wanted a unit that I could use on my face, and the 8800 was it since the Classic is not recommended for the facial area. Although the No No Hair System 8800 ($270) is $20 more expensive than the Classic ($250), it is definitely worth the extra $20 to have the option to use it on my upper lip. In this review I try to cover every aspect of the product to answer the question does No No work, and help you make an educated decision.

No No Hair System Claims

  • It’s pain free
  • It costs less than laser systems
  • It is safe for all skin types
  • It is effective on all hair and skin colors
  • You get up to 94% reduction in hair growth

It’s important to note that the No No Hair System is not a permanent hair removal system, nor is the length of time to see results as good as those of professional laser hair removal or electrolysis. And remember, professional laser hair removal is also not permanent. In any case, with repeated and continued use, No No Hair System does considerably lessen the density and growth of hair on all targeted areas. The thermal or heat technology used, directly affects the hair follicle and delays and disrupts future hair growth.

It’s been 4 months for me and I would say I’ve experience 80% hair reduction on my legs and 100% on my upper lip. That’s huge! I haven’t used it in any other area yet. Keep in mind, that the No No Hair System, like any other (heat, light or professional laser) hair removal system, it is often time consuming, with applications recommended 2-3 times weekly for a minimum of 8 weeks. Personally, this is not a big deal for me since I’m watching TV when I “no no”.

The Review

The question is, does No No work or is it just a bunch of empty promises? Well, it may not be perfect, but I was happy to buy it after the 60 day trial period was over. Here’s why…

I got my No No Hair System in the mail 1 week after I placed my order from their website. The system comes with the unit itself, a charger, a quick user’s guide, an after treatment lotion, 2 hot blades (a small and a large), a handy carrying case, a skin buffer and a little cleaning brush so you can clean the blades and the unit head.

The first thing I noticed is that the 8800 is thinner and taller than the Classic (which my friend has). It is cordless so all you need is to charge it and you don’t have to spend money on buying batteries, which was a complaint a few people had about the “Classic”. Once you charge it, you unplug it and start using it. I mention that because some electronic stuff needs to be plugged in while you use it – the No No Hair System 8800 doesn’t. The unit has a display that shows how much battery life is left which is also handy since you don’t want to go dead in mid-treatment, charge it and then have to remember where you were last.

How To Use No No Hair System

As you know, the No No Hair System was created to remove unwanted hair from the face, legs, arms, underarms, back and bikini line – almost all the areas of hair growth except that you cannot use the No No Hair System on your genitals or the breasts – so the areola (the ring of pigmented skin surrounding the nipple) is out. Many people do have hair in the areola so I would suggest tweezing those areas. The No No Hair System is based on Thermicon technology, which basically means it uses heat energy to zap hairs all the way to the root.

Here’s how easy it is to use: hold the No No Hair System device at a 90 degree angle over the targeted area and move it slowly in a straight line. No No Hair System has a little light on the front of the unit that stays green when the device is being used the right way. That’s it. Make sure to follow instructions. For instance, let’s say you’re doing your arms.

Start on one end and glide the No No Hair System device at a 90 degree angle to the other end. When you reach the end, make sure to lift the unit. Don’t stop it on your skin and let it sit there or you may experience a slight burn. Remember it uses heat to zap the hairs. Don’t worry… it doesn’t hurt.

Before you start treatment with the No No Hair System, you need to ensure your skin is clean and dry, and that you’re using the right-sized blade that comes with the system, for the area you are targeting. If you are doing your upper lip, use the smaller blade, if you’re doing your arms, use the bigger blade. The No No Hair System is an absolute no-brainer when it comes to ease of use.

It’s important to note that the No No Hair System folks tell you that to attain good hair reduction, the No No Hair System should be used 3 times per week on intended areas, particularly in the beginning of your treatment phase, for a period of about 6-8 weeks. I would go a bit further and say that if you can use it more often, do so. You will see better results and there are no side-effects to using it more. But it really depends on how sensitive your skin is, how much time you have, how much hair, your skin type, etc. I was using it 4-5 times per week for the first month.

My No No Hair System Results

I have been using the No No Hair System 8800 for just over 4 months now. I have dark, naturally curly hair with olive complexion, so I’m considered an “excellent” candidate for laser hair removal (see the skin type chart in the Laser Hair Removal post). My personal experience has been very good but that will vary depending on your hair and skin color/type. To find out your skin and hair type, please see my post on Laser Hair Removal and scroll down to find the Fitzpatrick Chart. I have also read reviews on people of different hair and skin types who have been using the No No Hair System, and the majority have been positive in their reviews, having experienced good to significant hair reduction.

After 6 Weeks Using The No No Hair System

When I started using the No No Hair System I didn’t follow the instructions and used it 1-2 per week for the first 2 weeks and saw little results (some hair reduction, probably 10%). I was traveling for work at that time and just couldn’t be consistent with it. But once the dust settled I started to use it 3 – 5 times per week and started to see great results after the fourth week.

There was definitely good hair reduction already, I would say around 40%, but the best part is, my hair was growing in much softer than usual. My skin wasn’t totally smooth yet, and there was a soft stubble in the hairiest part of my legs (the shin) where my hair is more coarse. I continued to shave as usual during the first month to get 100% hair-free results, but I did find my skin getting increasingly smoother. By the way, I’ve been using it on my legs and my upper lip only.

Please note that I am not recommending you use it as often as I do (4 times per week). I did and it is fine for me – I don’t experience any burning or side effects but everyone is different. I am a good candidate for laser hair removal according to the “Fitspatrick” Skin chart so I’m assuming my skin type can handle it.

Treatment on my legs takes me around 30 minutes (I take my time and do it right, while I watch TV), and around 7 minutes for my upper lip, which is still much less time than going to a salon or clinic specially if you throw in travel time.

My trial period was going to end in 2 weeks but I had seen enough – “chaching”! I bought it!

After 10 Weeks of Using The No No Hair System

I found that after 10 weeks I started to shave much less – about once a month just to “clean up” the few hairs that are still growing. I will now start to use an epilator on my legs since I don’t have enough hairs to actually shave. All I have now is new hair growth.

It’s been 4 months since I started to use my No No Hair System and I haven’t shaved my legs in 5 weeks, and still going…. This is a huge benefit. I do have some hairs but they are so soft and light, I can’t see them so I’m not worried about it yet. Okay….After 5 weeks of not shaving my legs and not seeing any hair growth on my upper lip, I’m falling in love with my No No Hair System.

The Hot Blades

You will eventually have to replace the No No Hair System blades. The company tells us that you should replace them after about 1 month but I disagree. It’s been almost 3 months for me and only now am I ready to replace it. I already ordered a package of 3 blades for about $25. A colleague at work has the No No Hair System and although she uses it less than me, she has only replaced it twice in about 10 months. She has the Classic unit and bought hers last year. Nevertheless, mine lasted 2 months longer than they were supposed to so don’t spend your money unless you have to. Gauge it for yourself.

Oh That Smell…

Because the No No Hair System removes hair with thermal or heat energy, it generates a smell of burning hair that is certainly unpleasant. To decrease the odor, I only use my No No Hair System in well-ventilated areas or near an open window. Depending how much it bothers you, you may want to wash the treated area or take a shower after treatment (especially if you’re going out for a night on the town)!

What’s It Going To Cost Me?

The cost of hair removal is certainly one of my key concerns when making a choice between hair removal systems. No No Hair System sells for $270 which is much cheaper than professional laser hair removal. You will also have to factor in the cost for new blades which costs $25 for a pack of 3. Although the No No hair system comes with a buffer and smoothing cream, you won’t need to reorder this really. I don’t use the buffer, I just use a cloth to rub the hair off and I use my own natural skin lotion.

Keeping in mind that a professional laser hair removal session (1 session) costs between $100 (upper lip) to $800 (back) depending on the body part, $270 is very economical in comparison. Also, considering that laser hair removal involves a few treatment sessions to achieve long-lasting results, it is definitely the most expensive option available.

The “Ouch” Factor

Another consideration with any hair removal treatment is the risk of pain or adverse reactions.

This is an important consideration for many people when it comes to choosing not only their preferred hair removal method but also the system. How does the No No Hair System score on the pain scale?… is the No No Hair System painless? Yes, absolutely. The No No Hair System is indeed painless on my skin, my friend’s skin, and on the users I researched online. Outside of a warm feeling and a slight tingling sensation, there is no pain.

As you glide the No No Hair System over your skin, it detects hair and zaps it – in other words, in burns or “crystallizes” the hair. Because of that, there is a distinct odor of burning hair that lingers in the air. Unpleasant, yes. But not a deal breaker. This bad smell was the one complaint most users had. The No No Hair System can cause accidental burns if you don’t use it correctly or if you use it in the wrong areas. I did get “burned” once because I used it the wrong way but it was so mild I don’t consider it a burn.

The Final Word

The majority of users I found online (as well as my friend and I), found a significant improvement in hair reduction with consistent, repeated use of the No No Hair System. In addition, No No Hair System does seem to work for all skin and hair types – I know of two for a fact: dark brown hair with olive skin (me) and light blonde hair with fair complexion (my friend, although her hair reduction was less in the same length of time).

Your individual preference and needs will dictate what hair removal system is best for you. If what you want is a system that will give you a very long reprieve from hair growth, and money is not a concern, than professional laser hair removal is a good alternative. Who doesn’t like to lay back and be pampered? But if you are concerned with cost and want to significantly reduce hair re-growth for a reasonable length of time then the No No Hair System is definitely worth the $270 onetime cost.

If you think you just have to run the device over your skin a few times to have perfectly smooth skin, you will be very disappointed with every hair removal system including professional laser hair and this one.

On the other hand, if you’re prepared to follow instructions and use it regularly for a few months, then you’ll be happy with your purchase. Just do it near an open window… because it smells a bit. Follow directions, do it right, be patient and give it time! Don’t forget, the No No Hair System is now risk-free for 60 days. That’s plenty of time to return it for a full refund if you don’t like it.

I hope this review has helped set the right expectations for the product if you do choose to go with it. When I’m asked “does No No work”, my answer is a resounding yes. Bottom line, I had realistic expectations when I bought the product and I’m very happy with my purchase of the No No Hair System.

5 Tips For Taming Hunger

Do you find that you are always hungry? Is the hunger insatiable? This can be very frustrating especially when you’re trying to watch your weight or slim down. If you eat a meal, you want to feel full and satisfied and not hungry within an hour. It’s important to note that if you are trying to slim down and the leaner you get, you will experience some hunger. That dieting hunger is inevitable because it’s a survival mechanism. You are not dying of course, but your body is trying to preserve its body fat in case of a true famine. On the flip side, if you simply struggle with what feels like excessive hunger here are my top 5 tips for taming hunger:

Tip 1: Track Your Calories

Oftentimes people think they are consuming enough calories for their body but we’ve learned that most people are terrible at estimating calories. This tip is about using an app to track your calories so you understand exactly how much you are consuming. You won’t have to track your calories forever but it will start to give you a clearer picture until you figure this out. For weight maintenance you will want to eat in calories, your body weight multiplied by 14-16. This is a starting point, it’s important to monitor your weight and hunger levels. If you begin to lose weight eating those calories then increase them. Foods that are higher in calories are nuts and seeds so grabbing a small handful of those and eating them slowly can provide a boost. The fat in the nuts and seeds will also help with satiety.

Tip 2: Nutrients and Volume

If you are eating a somewhat restrictive diet whether on purpose to avoid certain foods or good groups or that is just how you eat, you could potentially be missing out on key nutrients. A hunger signal from the body is driving you to eat more in order to acquire what’s missing. Be sure to include lots of green vegetables and fruits to get those micro-nutrients in. Also, taking a greens powder mix daily will fill in those nutritional gaps. Alongside the nutrients think about volume. Volume foods are large in quantity, high in nutrients and low in calories. These volume foods will fill you up and keep you feeling full. Some great examples of volume foods are vegetables such as cucumbers, spaghetti squash, kale and zucchini. Berries are also great for providing nutrients and are low calories so have a bowl of sliced strawberries if you wish.

Tip 3: Drink Water

The part of your brain that interprets hunger and thirst signals is the same and signals sometimes get mixed up. When you are feeling hungry and you have recently ate, try reaching for a fresh glass of water instead of food. Oftentimes, having a big glass of water helps stave off hunger for another hour or two.

Tip 4: Sleep

When we get poor sleep, whether that be interrupted sleep or simply not enough hours it can affect our hunger levels for the next day. This lack of sleep will make you feel hungrier than normal and leptin levels go down. Leptin is our hormone that tells us we are full and to stop eating. Try working on creating healthy sleep habits in order to improve your sleep. Some tips for creating these habits are; set a schedule to lie down every night at the same time, dim the lights in the evening, remove all electronics and cell phones from your room, sleep in complete darkness, keep a journal beside your bed to write down any thoughts or ideas that pop up, and so forth.

Tip 5: Intermittent Fasting

Fasting (abstaining from food) has the ability to suppress appetite and reset leptin signals. A popular way to begin this protocol is to start with intermittent fasting. This is where you will fast for about 16 hours (mostly over night) and only eat your calories for the day in an 8 hour eating window. It depends on your lifestyle but it’s easiest to have an eating window later in the day to enjoy a big dinner. For example; fast from 8pm until 12pm the next day. Drink only water, black coffee or plain tea and eat your food between 12pm and 8pm. The eating window can shortened as you see fit as long as you consume all of your calories for the day in the eating window. By doing this, you will suppress your appetite throughout the day and feel full and satiated eating your calories in a shorter time frame.

Feeling hungry can be uncomfortable but do some personal investigative work and find out what the culprit could be. Once you know where an issue may be then you will feel confident in knowing how to correct it.

Panic Attack Treatment With Benadryl – 3 Reasons Not to Use It and Useful Only As a Short Term Fix

When you’re a panic attack sufferer, you may look for the different ways to cure yourself. The problem is that there are all kinds of treatments available, both natural and chemicals, that can cure them. The real problem with some treatments is that they mask the real reason behind them. This is true of those people who use the panic attack treatment with Benadryl.

Using Benadryl Just For A Short-Term Fix

When you have these types of attack, you may reach for that bottle of Benadryl in the hopes that it will calm your nerves down and even allow you to sleep. It is true that, for some folks, Benadryl works in this manner. Keep in mind that the treatment with Benadryl will generally help those who have a mild case of the debilitating disease. In fact, Benadryl is a low-cost alternative to using Xanax, which offers the same benefits.

Why You Should Not Use Benadryl For A Long Term Solution

While it can be good to use Benadryl for a short amount of time, here are three reasons you should not have this kind of treatment.

Reason 1 – Adverse Reaction To Benadryl

Some people, no matter what, cannot use Benadryl because of the adverse reaction they have to it. Instead of making them feel calm and/or sleepy, the medicine will keep them wide-awake and hyper. This certainly doesn’t help the sufferer. If you notice yourself having an adverse reaction, it’s best to avoid this panic attack treatment with Benadryl.

Reason 2 – Benadryl Effects Wear Off

Another reason to avoid using the Benadryl is that the effects of the drug can wear off quickly, which means you will feel jittery and panicky again.

Reason 3 – Not Designed For Daily Use

Remember that Benadryl wasn’t designed for daily use or to use in excess of four times in a day. Benadryl is great for those who need to sleep due to allergies, colds or flu. However, it shouldn’t be used as an everyday deterrent for panic attacks since it can leave some lasting ill effects such as addiction (which can lead to you increasing the dose to get the effect you want), agitation, confusion, overdose, liver damage, short term memory loss, etc.

What To Use In Lieu Of Benadryl

Since Benadryl is not a good option for long-term use, what can you do to help cure the attacks? The best thing you can do for yourself is to seek out the advice of a professional who has experience in handling patients with panic attacks. From there, there may be two types of therapy they will use. These are: cognitive behavior therapy and exposure therapy.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy – Rather than using Benadryl, therapists will try the cognitive behavior therapy method, which looks at how a person thinks and behaves during a panic attack and turns that negative behavior into something positive.

Exposure Therapy – Therapists may opt to use the exposure therapy to help patients overcome their attacks. Exposure therapy means a patient will be exposed to the trigger in a controlled setting while learning the healthier ways to cope with a panic attack.

Other things you can do include changing your diet, increase how often you exercise, get more sleep, breathe during a panic attack or take doctor prescribed medication.

Yes, a panic attack treatment with Benadryl can be helpful but it was not designed with this in mind. Use it for a short time until you can find other healthier ways to cope with your panic attacks.

Horizon Exercise Bike – A Good Investment Or a Waste of Money?

There are many positive reviews floating around about the most recent Horizon exercise bike models, but many are still hesitant to make a final decision and purchase one. If you are wondering how the top recumbent exercise bike models from this manufacturer really perform once you take them home, consider the following details on three of their top selling bikes.

The most basic model that caters to people who don’t want to spend a lot of money and aren’t interested in all the bells and whistles, is the Horizon RC-30 exercise bike. While it does not come with any of the advanced technological features that Horizon customers enjoy and in fact come to expect, it is does what it is designed to do extremely well. If you thought lower priced exercise equipment was all junk, it’s time to reconsider.

A larger sized LCD console displays various stats on your workout consistently and the frame has a nice step through design that eliminates having to climb over an awkward bar. It is extremely quiet easy to pedal, without any jerking or friction even through the most vigorous workouts. With eight resistance levels and 8 present workout programs, it will provide a wide variety of workouts.

For those who want a little more in terms of features, consider the Horizon RC-40 exercise bike. It has the same step through frame design, but the console is backlit in orange and has a built-in fan and speaker. Most MP3 players can easily be hooked in to play clearly while you workout.

This model includes more options as well, with ten resistance levels and fourteen preset workout programs.

Do you want even more? Then let’s look at the Horizon B701 exercise bike. This bike ups the ante to a great degree with an iPod docking station right on the front of the console. While your iPod charges you can control it right through the console and hear your selections through the built-in speakers. The large console still delivers consistent feedback on your workout.

There are two things about this option that some people do not like. First, it does not have the step through frame design so you will have to carefully maneuver over that bar to get on and off the seat. Second, there are only six exercise programs available. The highlight here is that it has a whopping 18 resistance levels, so those few exercise programs can be changed up with different intensities that way.

So which Horizon exercise bike looks the best to you? They are all extremely affordable for the features provided, so purchase in confidence.

How to Remove Raised Moles at Home

Learning how to remove raised moles at home is possible. It is not necessary for you to go to your family doctor and to have them frozen off using liquid nitrogen. This type of procedure usually is very expensive because it’s not covered by a lot of insurance companies since it’s classified as being cosmetic surgery. I will outline a simple technique that you can try at home for getting rid of your moles that are not flat.

This special mole removal technique requires that you tie a piece of string around the part of the mole that is above the normal surface of your skin. I just wanted to warn you beforehand that there could be a little bit of pain involved with this method since the nerves in the mole are quite close to the surface of the mole.

You may have read already that some people have tried just tying a piece of hair around the base of their mole in hopes of cutting off the blood supply to the mole which will kill it off. I personally prefer to use a piece of dental floss to do so since it is much stronger in its more likely to be more sterilized than a dirty piece of hair from someone’s head.

Make sure that you clean the surface of your mole thoroughly before you try this method out. I will outline the story of how someone was able to tie off and to kill their mole.

This woman had a mole that was lumpy and itchy that was underneath her arm and she absolutely hated it. She was afraid to go to her doctor to have it chopped off so she decided to try out a home remedy on her own which consisted of tying a piece of dental floss around the surface of her mole. Some people state that this type of method could cause scarring but the scar is usually very tiny if you perform this procedure properly. If you have a mole that is underneath your arm and it is bothering you because it rubs against your clothing, you are a good candidate for this method.

Of course you should have your mole examined by a family doctor to ensure that it is not cancerous before you start to play around with it.

Now what this woman does did was to tie off her mole using the slip knot and then putting another knot on top of it using a piece of dental floss. The dental floss was actually cutting into her skin that was underneath the mole. She did feel a little bit of pain but it was bearable. It started to fill up with blood and it was necessary to place a bandage on top of the mole to protect it from getting infected. After a few days or so, the mole fell off and all was well.

As it mentioned above, it’s always advisable to get a troublesome mole checked by medical expert before you attempt any home remedy. Good luck with your goal to remove your moles and remember that if you are patient with home remedies, they may work well for you.
